"Coconut Radio."

The sixth of six brief newspaper "Tales of Tahiti." Various British guests at a dinner party in Tahiti consume exotic food and drink, one being accompanied by his vahini (native mistress) -- a blank-eyed and unsmiling older woman drinking gin, another arriving with his new vahini -- a beautiful, smiling girl of fourteen or fifteen. In the Evening Standard (October 22, 1955), The Wedding Party (1965), Elephant's Nest in a Rhubarb Tree & Other Stories (1989).
